Hello! I’m Jon Bleiweis, a Baltimore-based writer with experience in journalism and strategic communication. Welcome to my small slice of the internet, which essentially serves as my online portfolio and a place to show off a little bit of what I do on and off the clock.

Thanks for visiting.
I am a communications specialist with the Wilmer Eye Institute, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine. I write stories on scientific discoveries, patient successes and clinical care. I also support the communication needs of Wilmer’s eight satellite locations across Maryland.
Previously, I wrote for APG News, the installation news service at the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground, which was one of the last remaining on-post military newspapers. I also designed the website and sent out a weekly newsletter to subscribers with highlights around the installation. I’ve also reported for newspapers in southwest Baltimore County and the beach communities of Delaware and Maryland.
When I’m not working, I enjoy going to baseball games and taking photos. See a few favorites on your right and many more of them at my baseball photo gallery, ABeautifulDayForBaseball.com. Other pet projects I play around with during my spare time can be found on the right hand side of the page.
